I have had this model for six years and have only needed to change the bulb once. It can be inconvenient searching for a replacement light, but not impossible to find. The surface is more than large enough to see your entire project, but a manageable size for small studio areas. It is never uncomfortably hot to the touch (though it makes a nice hand-warmer in winter). Pens and inks come and go as my style and taste changes, but this remains one of the most useful and long-lasting tools I've ever bought. I've used other lighboards, both homemade and storebought, but none of them have the same appeal as the Arty Pro.

* How to remove and change the lamp *

If the lamp inside your light box stops working, you can easily replace it with the following instructions.
Please purchase a 10W fluorescent lamp from a store, and follow those steps:

1. Gently place the lightbox upside down, on a stable surface.
It's best to place it over something soft like a cloth or a towel, so that the top doesn't get scratched while you change the lamp.

2. Remove the screws as shown in the image.

3. Lift the top part of the light box and separate it from the base.

4. Gently rotate the lamp as indicated in the image, in order to align the prongs on each side of the lamp with the spot allowing the lamp to be pulled out.
■ How to pull the fluorescent lamp out.
Gently rotate it 45 degrees and then pull it out.

5. To insert a new fluorescent lamp, reverse the instructions of step 4, sliding the lamp in and then rotating it to secure it in place.
