This manga series follows how Reiji Kurashina, a new teacher and former student of the all-boys Shoei High School, unintentionally involved in his students' lives of his old school.
In this first volume, Kurashina’s cat, Matsumoto-san sends him in a wild goose chase meet-up with most of the characters. Along with Kurashina Sensei, we were introduced to Asano, the stoic chairman of the Events Organizing Committee, Kouki, the goofball smart student committee to Dai-kun, the freshman committee with cat’s phobia. There is even a Mr James ( From Eroica with Love ) in this manga. ( Guess who?! )
The first volume has a funny light hearted story plot backup with interesting “moe” characters. There is no dull moment from the early pages where Kurashina Sensei is dragged into helping out the eccentric Events Organizing Committee to when Takashi suddenly kisses Kurashina, leaving him perplexed. Unlike some, this is one manga with perfect translation where its honorifics remain intact. No doubt, the story in this volume flows smoothly but it would be interesting to see how the story progresses on as it’s normally pretty hard to sustain the continuity.
For now, to those who enjoy reading “shonen-ai” mangas, this is one that shouldn’t be MISSED.
