INTRODUCTION OF STAFF

Ozawa, Satoru - Original Producer
On the release of OVA version of "Blue Submarine #6:" My heart dances as though I was a young boy, which is actually an understatement. With the age gap between the "Blue Submarine #6" staff and me, they can be my sons or even my grandchildren. If each of them gained anything from being part of this production then there is a piece of them in "Blue Submarine #6." Their youth and passion will bring to the animation world new and exciting works. Thank you.
Projects: "Blue Submarine #6", "Submarine 707", "Bouken Nihonmaru", "Emem Santa", "Obodutch"

Maeda, Mahiro - Director
Fun to make, fun to watch. That's all I have to say. This time, with my wonderful staff, I am trying to satisfy my high expectations. Enjoy!

Chiaki, Kooichi - Producer
Murata, Range and Kusanagi, Takuhito. What will these two fresh and smart artists and Gonzo's 3D animation team produce? Anticipation overrides any doubt in my mind. I am grateful for the production and premiere of "Blue Submarine #6."

Yamaguchi, Hiroshi - Screenplay
Animation meant not only for fanatics, but also the general public, does exist. For example, entertaining works like the "007" series and "Golgo 13." Although stylistically it is different, "Blue Submarine #6" is just as entertaining.
Projects: Neon Era Evangelion (TV Animation) screenplay, "Kuujyaouu Gaogaiga" Courageous King Gaougaiga (TV Animation) screenplay, Macross Digital Mission VF-X (Game Software) director

Murata, Range - Character Design
This is my first time designing characters for an anime. It seems like a delightful production. I can't wait to get started.
Projects: "Gouketsudera Ichizoku 1,2,3" (arcade game) character design, "Sakushasoushitsu" The Author is Missing (novel) frames, "Super Jump" (Seasonal Magazine" cover illustration

Kusanagi, Takuhito - Character Design
A work cannot be created without having an ideal or a goal set in place. This applies to the production of anime. An image that each of the creator's posses in their imagination is sketched, then produced as a final product. And creators have the power to influence the final product. You will discover a new appreciation for animation.
Projects: 'Shanghai??Zoku" (comic) comic work, "Grandia" (game soft) character, mechanic, and monster design, "Kaze no Yukue" (CD-Rom collection of works) illustration

Kawamori, Shouji - Mechanical Design
Satoru Ozawa's manga "Blue Submarine Number 6" had a major impact on me as a young boy. There is definitely a piece of me in this production. This video version, directed by Mr. Maeda, is slightly different from the original, but it was fun nonetheless, especially because this was my first time designing sea-bound vessels.
Projects: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (TV Animation) original planning and mechanical design, Macross Plus (OVA and theatrical release) general director, The Vision of Escaflone (TV Animation) original planning and screenplay

Yamshita, Ikuto - Mechanical Design
When I was young, "707" and "Blue Submarine #6" were sacred to me. And to think that I am part of the production of "Blue Submarine #6"! In the original, I liked the dolphin-like design of Blue Number 3. But when I spoke with Satoru Ozawa, the original creator, he said, "Oh, that character? That's actually designed after my wife's iron." Oh, my childhood dream!
Projects: Neon Genesis Evangelion (TV Animation) mechanical design, Nadia-Secret of the Water (TV Animation) mechanical design, "Top wo nerae" Aim for the Top (OVA) joint production

Murata, Toshiharu - Character Designer/Animation Director
Computer Graphics and animation mixed together. I have a feeling that this production will be totally new. I will give it my best.
Projects: Patlabor- The Movie (theatrical release) original picture, "Taihoshichauzo" You're Under Arrest (TV Animation and OVA) mechanical design "Musekinin Kancho Taylor) (TV Animation and OVA) animation director

There have been many productions involving sunken metropolises, but "Blue Submarine #6" is the first in trying to establish a life there. I hope to capture people's will to survive in the flooded cityscape.

Suzuki, Akira - 3D Computer Graphics Director
The image that Satoru Ozawa and director Maeda created... The beautiful nature scenes and the dynamic mechanical action scenes touched me. 30 minutes of computer graphics, 140 cuts! I hope that this anime will leave you saying, "Wow! How beautiful! Cool!"

Tsuruoka, Youta - Sound Director
The fact that I was participating in the making of an important production put a lot of pressure on me, but at the same time, I felt indescribable joy. The underwater sound effects were difficult, but it will not be beaten by the images.

The Thrill
We are "The Thrill," in charge of creating the soundtrack for this OAV. Because "Blue Submarine #6" is so exciting, we will have to be just as competitive with our big band- style music. We would like to produce new and grandiose music. We are all very excited!
Profile: December of 1990, The Thrill debuted by opening for Inc Tec Suzue Factory. The band gained attention for their different array of music. They usually play live and, during their shows, they get the audience involved. In May 1995 they released their first album through Toshiba EMI called "A Million Dollar Band: The Thrill". They also appeared in commercials and they were regulars on TBS' "Jungle Televi" (April to September, 1995). They have received support from various musicians such as Ranran Suzuki and Yasuko Matsuyuki. They also contributed to a tribute album with Eikichi Yazawa and Tod Langren. Up to this point, they have released 3 albums, 2 singles, and have participated in 5 tribute albums.
