World's Biggest Otaku Winners

You've fought brave. You've fought hard. But in the end, there can be only one. Ron Ferrara of Massachusetts has been
selected by a jury of his peers as being worthy of wearing the mantle of World's Biggest Otaku. He will receive 7 DVDs,
a manga artist starter kit, and an item signed by a secret anime celebrity, in addition to his being profiled on Akadot.
The runners-up will each receive exclusive Studio Pierrot goodies.

Thanks again for the overwhelming response, and keep checking in with Akadot for more contests, as well as the most
up-to-the-minute news, reviews and cool features.

	 WINNER:
	 Dear Akadot,
Hmm, why am I the world's biggest otaku? Well, first off, I have TONS of anime and manga hanging around my house. I
would give you a comprehensive list of everything, but chances are I'd go over the 500 word limit. Let's just say I should
probably rent out a storage area for all this stuff. I own more manga than I do regular books (Shakespeare? Who's he?).
I own so much anime that my room's full and I've had to move a lot of it to the attic. I've watched certain movies so many
times that the DVD's are beginning to warp.
Then there's me. If an otaku is more than the anime on his shelf, well, I guess I also fit into that category. I actually
look like an anime character. No, really, most people think I'm a little weird. First off, there's my hair. It's blue. Blue.
Blue like "Shampoo" blue. Why blue? Well, I think it looks cool. Who said blondes have more fun? I have more fun. I have a
six-inch long braid (like Ranma), and I've let my sideburns grow so long that they hang off my face like tassels. Hey, I
like the look. I'm also a guy - a guy who happens to have long, blue hair. When was the last time you saw a guy with long,
	 blue hair?
Examine now my normal attire. I always wear these black, military jungle boots. Highly polished, of course. I also commonly
wear black, baggy pants (like the Shinigami himself) that have ties at the bottom so I can blouse them with my boot. My shirt
is usually either an anime-related T-shirt or a button-up shirt with some sort of design on it (anime-related or maybe a
dragon or something). The shirt is the only brightly colored thing on me, as the color red or blue stands out with black
clothing. If it's cold out, I'll wear a black leather dress jacket (I'll normally wear it anyway, it looks awesome). I always
have two black wristbands that I wear everyplace I go (one holds my watch, the other is plain leather).
Finally, let's look at my habits. I speak in a half-English/ half-Japanese language that nobody can understand. It took
my parents a week to learn that "un" means "yeah." I've started thinking in Japanese. I can read English and hear Japanese
in my head. It's scary. I swear I could probably speak the language fluently without knowing what I'm saying. Gotta make
that connection between English and Japanese words. =)
Anyway, I live, breathe, eat, sleep, dream, and even.uh, um yeah, anime. It's an ever present aspect in my life.
This is what it means to be otaku.
	 Thanks,
	 Ron
