Overall: 8.5
Looking for action, adventure and an actual storyline? You've come to the right place.

Story: 9.0
The storyline is very versatile in this anime, at times it reads like a "Law and Order" episode, then switches into a whole new ballpark as the location changes. This series could go anywhere, and probably will.

Character Development: 8.0
Ryu's develops well, although Ken remains fairly one-dimensional. With the entrance of Vega, Chun Li's character shows promise of some interesting development to come in volume three.

Art/Animation: 9.5
Laden with fight details, realistic physical spasm and heaving muscles, the art of this series shines when depicting combat.

Translation: 9.0
Everything is smooth and modernized, no archaic English usage or phrases that aren't quite right.

Acting: 8.0
The dialogue might be a little shaky between Ken and Ryu, but overall the general level is high.

MPAA Equivalent: PG-13
The blood and violence in this series is fairly scaled down, the only nudity is some back shots of Ken and arousing Chun Li scenes don't ever cross the line into risqué.

Format: 5.0
Easy navigation over an evocative street scene design. But very little of note. Manga Ent. previews and a catalogue of their most famous titles; "Street Fighter II V" trailer; weblinks to Manga Ent.-related sites. The DVD also features a remix of the theme song, a deceptively good addition to the package.

X-Factors

The Universal Translator: 8.0
Go anywhere in the world and somehow understand exactly what people are saying. Maybe Ken and Ryu found a Babel Fish somewhere.

Coming Back For Seconds: 8.5
Not many people will go back to the place they nearly died and do the same thing over a few hours later. Either Ryu is incredibly brave or his survival instincts must have been damaged during a fight.
