Overall: 6.0
Pity the concepts behind "Moldiver" didn't get developed better before this show took flight.
Story/Character Development: 5.0
Character strengths, flaws, dreams, etc. simmer in the periphery of this mecha effort. "Moldiver" lacks
this basic link between story and character development, but binds story and slapstick suffocatingly close.
Art/Animation: 8.0
The animation accomplishes what "Moldiver" creators intended, a superhero environ with strong lines, bold
colors and fluid hamminess.
Translation/Acting: 5.0
A wealth of grating and high-pitched yelling. It's just not funny. No outrageous translation problems,
so the low score belongs solely to the acting.
Format: 8.0
DVD. Fans will appreciate the "Secret of Moldiver" Video Clip, which highlights seven Moldiver secrets ranging
from the Mol-unit specifications to character revelations. A design gallery, non-credit opening and non-credit
ending are also included.
MPAA Equivalent: PG-13
Some of the milder bad words often pop up.
X-Factors
Snaggle Tooth Factor: 5.0
When Professor Agami gets excited about some old technology, a huge, hunk of an incisor appears.
Clark Kent Factor: 5.0
Meet mild mannered, glasses wearing Hiroshi. Don't look now, but once he removes the glasses and puts on the
suit he becomes...it's a bird, it's a plane, no, it's Moldiver!
