Manga Academy Specialization Recommendation: A review of "Let's Draw Manga: Sexy Gals"

In Manga Academy we cover the basics of drawing manga from a beginner’s standpoint and as mainstream as possible. However, we know that someone may want to specialize in a particular form of drawing, or may just be a fan of a particular series. With that, here are some books aimed at Manga Academy and others in order to further your studies on subjects that interest you. In the future, we are hoping to incorporate these into specialized study, but for right now please enjoy the books.

Hoo boy.

There are three things in this world that can cause a really big argument: Politics, Religion, and Sex. These are especially bad when it's a cultural take on one of those being imported to another country. What may end up being easygoing and acceptable in France may be lurid and disgraceful in India, or completely everyday normal in Chile be unspeakable in Canada. With that point made, there is one thing that sticks out in the minds of many in the US who like manga and anime: the differences when it comes to sex.

"Sexy Gals" doesn't have hugely explicit drawings, or things bouncing around all over the place, but it doesn't bat an eyelash over things a normal drawing book would gloss over. Such as showing proper weight differences when a certain part of the female anatomy is manipulated by hands or how to make the participants of certain acts look appropriately pleased. Questions that people who might be embarrassed to ask are covered here, such as the positions of people involved in romantic interludes and how they should balance out. The science of draped bed linens and the art of panty drawing are covered, as there is no other form of art which requires such detail to beauty or attractiveness.

Again, this is an advanced reference book, not one for someone unfamiliar with proportion or perspective. Having at least up to class 203 would be best. However, if you are one of those brave souls who plan on doing sexy comics as the focus of their work or just need to have some pointers on those awkward love scenes that go past a closed bedroom door, this book is a good choice.
