Editor's Note: Happy April Fool's Day
Yesterday, in Japan a Pop Japan Travel tour guide was questioned in the Roppongi District during one of the optional days for the Pop Japan Travel Tour, a tour catered to anime and manga fans.
The identity of the tour guide has not been released but it has been confirmed that the suspect goes by the alias “Aka-san”. The tour guide, Aka-san, was stopped and searched by Roppongi police. Aka-san questioned the police in broken Japanese asking if it was a security precaution because of terrorism but police did not understand him. When he mentioned the word "Taliban", police nodded their heads.
Police questioned him with regards to national security and eventually arrested him for suspected relations with terrorists’ organizations.
When asked about this incident, fellow tour guide, Trisha Kunimoto said, "I couldn’t believe it when he was stopped. They asked him a couple of questions and then searched his belongings. They looked unsatisfied and that’s when they took him in."
Aka-san’s employer, Digital Manga Inc. was contacted by police but Digital Manga claimed no relations with said employee. When asked about the incident, Digital Manga’s response was "No comment."
