A collection of BL/Yaoi shorts, this work opens and closes with the same couple, a flower shop worker who, in getting the gender wrong of the flower arrangement to deliver, feels he has not captured the ‘essence’ of the person. The more he thinks about Tatsuki, the more enthralled he becomes (and like a typical guy, leaves Tatsuki hanging with the ‘I’ll drop back later’ line – how is poor Tatsuki to know he is off thinking of him and arranging flowers?). I enjoyed this series of more romantic yaoi with feminine uke’s, as in one story two bath houses are to join families in marriage but the sister disappears. To preserve honor the feminine brother is offered and accepted (think Flower Bride). The Seme’s are worldly wise and pushy, while the Uke’s innocence brings out the ‘naughty’ in the Seme. For those who like Uke’s to be on par, I recommend Forbidden Isle, while this collection gets us out of the school, has people with jobs and lives, but also a interesting Seme/Uke dynamic, with a worldly wise, but more innocent and graceful uke. I enjoyed this collection very much and gave one copy to a friend I though would enjoy it as well, and she did, the flower shop story, which shows personal growth of the Tatsuki, was the favorite for both of us. The author’s description of writing the stories, the idea and how it wasn’t quite as easy as she planned, adds depth for rereading. A high recommendation for those who like BL/Yaoi like ‘Day I Became a Butterfly’ and ‘Flower Bride’ with more romance and softer uke’s.
